Citrus Bites – August 2023

Welcome to August’s Citrus Bites, the monthly bite sized economic update from Citrus Financial. In this edition Richard Harris is looking at the latest economic data from the UK including the rate of inflation and core inflation. We also look at predictions from City experts on how how high interest rates might climb. Asking the question many parents will have heard over the summer – “are we nearly there yet?”

We also have a change to our normal format. Following the success of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, we speak to the wonderful Sarah Batters. Sarah’s the former Commercial Director at Southampton Football Club and coach for Chipstead FC girls U7 and U9s teams. She gives us a fascinating insight into the women’s game from a professional and grassroots perspective. Talking about the benefits of football for girls and the positive role models it provides. She also discusses the needs of the grassroots game, including the demand for more female coaches and the help the FA is providing.

Watch the video to learn more about the UK economy, the women’s game, and the importance of football for girls.
