Citrus Mortgage Bites – January 2024

Welcome to Citrus Mortgage Bites, our brand new monthly video covering all things mortgages. Each month Richard Harris, COO at Citrus Financial, will be joined by Holly Bettles, our wonderful mortgage and protection adviser, to discuss the latest news in the mortgage market.

It’s been an exciting start to the year and this month Holly talks us through the latest developments in the UK mortgage market. Including the growing competition between lenders keen to attract new borrowers.

Since the start of the year we’ve seen growing numbers of lenders moving their mortgage rates downward which is great news for consumers. And that’s even before we hear from the Monetary Policy Committee about it’s latest bank rate decision in early February.

We’re also introducing ‘Bricks & Mortar Bingo’. Our new fantasy property game where each month Holly and Richard will be set a brief to find the perfect property. For January they had £350,000 to spend as first-time buyers looking for a home that’s commutable. Holly’s interpretation of ‘commuting’ is a little less traditional than Richard’s. If you think there’s a clear winner let us know.

If you like the properties they’re currently both available on Connells of Tunbridge Wells and The Eastbourne Property Shop.

We hope you enjoy it and please let us know what you think.
