Citrus Financial Sponsors ‘Plot to Plate’ Award at the Westerham Horticultural Society Autumn Show

The Westerham Horticultural Society Autumn Show, held on a sunny September 14th, was a huge success, with Citrus Financial proudly sponsoring the ‘Plot to Plate’ award. This unique competition invited participants to grow their own produce, bake with it, and make a chutney, jam, or curd using the same item. The creativity and talent displayed by the local community were truly impressive.

This year’s show was bigger than ever, with double the number of entries compared to last year. A steady stream of visitors enjoyed the event, and the wonderful weather added to the overall festive atmosphere.

Citrus Financial's Sponsored Winners

We were thrilled to see the enthusiasm for the ‘Plot to Plate’ category. Congratulations to Matt Strange, who won 1st place with his carrots, which he used to make a delicious carrot cake and carrot chutney. His carrots not only secured 1st place in this category but also won ‘Best in Show’ for the vegetable classes—a well-deserved achievement!

In 3rd place was April Richer, one of the event organisers. She presented apples from her own garden, along with a beautifully crafted apple tart and apple preserve. Her hard work in both organising the show and contributing to the competition made the event even more special.

A Celebration of Community and Growth

The Westerham Horticultural Society Autumn Show has always been a celebration of the local community’s passion for gardening, baking, and preserving. The ‘Plot to Plate’ category, in particular, embodies the spirit of self-sustainability and creativity. Citrus Financial is proud to have sponsored this category, supporting the local community in their efforts to grow and enjoy their own produce.

We look forward to seeing even more outstanding entries at next year’s show!
