The Power of Giving: How Board Games Make a Difference This Christmas

In this special edition of Citrus Insights, Richard Harris sits down with Anne Ralph, trustee of the charity Friends for Families, to discuss the importance of our annual Board Games for a Brighter Christmas appeal.

For the third year, Citrus Financial is partnering with Friends for Families to help bring joy to children and families in Sevenoaks and surrounding areas who may otherwise wake up to no presents on Christmas morning. As Anne highlights, many families in our community face financial hardship, with over 21% of children in Sevenoaks living below the poverty line.

Through Friends for Families, donations of new board games provide these families with a simple but powerful gift: a chance to come together and share moments of fun.

Anne explains how each board game, donated by clients, community members, and organisations like Chipsted Football Club, is selected and given to families identified by Children’s Services as those in greatest need. Last year, with the generosity of our community, Friends for Families distributed over 500 gifts, including these cherished games.

This Christmas, let’s make an even bigger impact. Drop off new board games at our Sevenoaks office or visit our Amazon Wishlist to help bring joy to a family in need. Join us in making this holiday brighter for families across our community!
